Summery Singing!

The past few days have presented us with blue skies and a warm temperature to match (minus a cloudy today and a rainy yesterday) which, I'm sure, has left everyone anticipating the (hopefully) hot summer awaiting us! I love finding new songs to listen to, and below are a few to make you feel happy...

Love of Lesbian - Fantastic Shine

Billie the Vision & the Dancers - Summercat

Xavier Rudd - Follow the Sun

Swim Deep - She Changes the Weather (Stripped Sessions)

Saint Raymond - Brighter Days

Life's Little Instructions

Goooooood morning! I came across a photo a while ago and saved it on my phone because I loved it so much. Words of advice from a 95 year old man named William Snell in 1993 were extremely uplifting and may be of use to anyone feeling a little low - perhaps due to exam stress, money stress and any other stresses you can imagine! The beautiful piece is titled Life's Little Instructions.

Sing in the shower

Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated
Watch a sunrise at least once a year
Never refuse homemade brownies
Strive for excellence, not for perfection
Plant a tree on your birthday
Learn three clean jokes
Return borrowed vehicles with the gas tank full
Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them
Leave everything a little better than you found it
Keep it simple
Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures
Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know
Be forgiving on yourself and others
Say "thank you" a lot
Say "please" a lot
Avoid negative people
Wear polished shoes
Remember other people's birthdays
Commit yourself to constant improvement
Have a firm handshake
Send lots of valentine cards, sign them
Look people in the eye
Be the first to say "hello"
Return all things you borrow
Make new friends but cherish old ones
Keep secrets
Plant flowers every spring
Have a dog
Always accept an outstretched hand
Stop blaming others
Take responsibility for every area of your life
Wave at kids on school buses
Be there when people need you
Don't expect life to be fair
Never underestimate the power of love
Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanation
Don't be afraid to say "I made a mistake"
Don't be afraid to say "I don't know"
Compliment even small improvements
Keep your promises no matter what
Marry only for love
Rekindle old friendships
Count your blessings
Call your mother
And your dad too

Wish you grew up in the 1950's?

If you do ANYTHING today, please let it be a visit to Ed's Diner to try an Oreo milkshake. I can't even begin to explain how amazing these milkshakes are.
Who's seen Hilary Duff's film A Cinderella Story? If you're a lover of this film as much as I am (along with The Lizzie McGuire Movie which if you haven't seen - why and how have you not?!) then a trip to Ed's is ideal for you! The diner replicates qualities of those of the diner in all the classic American films. The surroundings are also similar to those of the diner in Grease - so exciting.
We visited the one in Southampton's West Quay and the milkshakes did not disappoint. On the majority of tables found within the restaurant there is a jukebox which allows you to play a song of your choice for everyone dining to hear! The attention to detail in Ed's Diner is brilliant and cannot be faulted whatsoever.

Grace's smile is definitely not big enough to illustrate the excitement we felt, yep, we were more excited than that. Step back in time to the 1950's and go to Ed's Diner!

Lee on Solent - Hampshire

A trip to Lee on Solent, a little seaside town in Hampshire, with one of friends resulted in a lovely day out. A walk along along the beach with ice creams allowed for a much needed catch up. Surprisingly, I'd never been to this beach before which is odd considering it's only a thirty minute drive from where I live. Despite the wind, which was inevitable (we do live in England), the sun was out - wahoooooo!

Being at the beach is one of my all time favourite things so, despite it being April, and not as nearly as warm as it looks in the photos, the opportunity to spend an afternoon in Lee on Solent was not one to be missed.
